What it is
A handcrafted action RPG built on Minecraft: Java Edition. Not a survival server with
plugins, and not a modpack. It is a campaign with its own loot system, its own combat
model, its own enemies and its own written world, running on a network of servers that
players never have to think about.
The premise is simple enough to say in a sentence. One hundred floors, a King at the top,
and a wish for whoever reaches him. The campaign underneath that premise is considerably
less simple, and it is written down before it is built.
Where it actually is
Four floors of a hundred are finished and playable right now, quests and enemies and
loot and story. The systems beneath them are live and being tuned. Floor 5 is
built and populated with its story being written. Everything above that is design work.
This is called the First Ascent, and it is an early-access phase rather
than a launch. The goal is not hundreds of temporary players. It is a small founding group
who understand what the project is trying to become: recurring playtesters, trusted
community members, volunteers, and long-term paid contributors.
If you arrive expecting a finished game you will be disappointed, and that would be
our fault rather than yours. So we would rather say it here.
Two promises
Founding recognition is cosmetic and historical, never a permanent combat
advantage. Being early should be something you can point at, not something that
makes you stronger than people who arrive next year.
Volunteers are not asked to do major development work unpaid. Volunteer
work and commissioned work are separate things, and we keep them separate.
